CAN CRUSHER LAB
LAB DEMO
Problem - How does a sudden change in air temperature affect the air pressure inside a pop can? AND what will happen to the can?
Hypothesis - (please write your own hypothesis "educated guess" about what will happen to the can)
Materials - Stove/Hot Plate, Pop Can, Bowl, Ice Water, Graduated Cylinder, Tongs, Safety Glasses
Procedure - First make sure you wear the safety glasses and the work area is clear of any danger/hazards. Then place 10ml of water into the pop can. Next heat the can on top of the hot plate until the water inside starts to boil. Finally quickly flip the can into the ice water making sure the hole is submerged.
Observations - Describe what you saw
Conclusion - Answer the problem about how temperature affects air pressure
